A Personal Operating System You Actually Want To Use
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Your schedule is packed, your desk is chaos, and yet you still feel behind. That’s not a character flaw, it’s a systems problem, and we’re done pretending more hustle will fix it. We want to help you increase revenue and net income while reclaiming the time and peace of mind that success is supposed to buy, not destroy.
We introduce a practical personal operating system, not “time management,” because nobody manages time. The goal is self-management: gaining control over how you respond to your environment, how you handle other people’s problems, and how you protect your attention during your best working hours. When your commitments and focus aren’t constantly being hijacked, stress drops, decisions get easier, and business outcomes improve.
The foundation is the clarity principle. We walk through the first of three guiding questions: what do you want from your business, then set up why you want it and how you’ll get it. We also connect clarity to values, using a quick exercise at think2perform.com/values to identify your top five values so your goals match what matters most. And we draw a clear line between wishful thinking and real progress: hope is not a strategy, a clear plan is.
Press play, do the values exercise, and start brainstorming a vivid, specific picture of what you actually want. If this helps, subscribe, share it with a friend who feels trapped by work, and leave a review so more people can find the Commission Code.

Helping people increase revenue and have more time to enjoy it. Well, it's become my passion in business. Increasing revenue, that really means increasing your net income, right? And I can't think of anybody who doesn't want to do that. And when it comes to having time to enjoy it, well, many of us don't think there's time in our exhaustive schedules to have time to go out and enjoy the fruits of our labor because, well, we're spending all our time laboring. The stress about today can become overwhelming, especially when it's attached to anxiety about what's going to happen in the future and what might happen. There are two problems here. One is not working effectively and efficiently, so you feel comfortable being able to take time to do anything other than work. And the second is not prioritizing the things that we value outside of work. Now, I can honestly say we when I talk about this topic because I can tell you, been there done
More Income With Time To Enjoy It
SPEAKER_00that for sure. I've struggled with this problem for a long time, and I finally found a solution that has accomplished my desire for income and time. Not to mention peace with what is and what is to come. The solution, well, it's a personal operating system. In this series of several podcasts, I'm going to show you how to build that system. Now, look, this is not another time management thing.
Stress, Anxiety, And The Two Traps
SPEAKER_00What a misnomer. We can't manage time. We all have 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This is a system that's going to allow you to manage you, to manage yourself and use time in the most effective and efficient way possible. And you know what? Managing me, well, that's probably the hardest managerial job I have ever had. Through many,
The Personal Operating System Idea
SPEAKER_00many, many of the concepts that we're going to talk about, you can apply them to anyone who believes that they have a business to run, even if they're technically an employee with a boss and all the things that accompany that kind of probably a W-2 kind of job. Let's get into the system to help you increase your net income and gain control over your time. Now look, we're not here to manage your time or put you in a box that feels uncomfortable at best. This system is a way for you to get your work done and see positive results, that is, increasing your income and having time to enjoy it. This is a personal operating system, a POS. Well, okay, that's a very unfortunate acronym. Let's just call it an operating system or op system or tell you what, we're just going to call it a system, okay? Well, the system allows you to manage yourself and gain control. Control over how you respond to the environment and how you respond to other people's problems. Control over your commitments, control over your attention, and control over how you do your work. It can result in less stress and anxiety and better use of your prime working time and a lot better business outcomes. Now, somebody asked me when I was putting this all together, said, gee, Morris, is that going to work for
Control Commitments, Attention, And Reactions
SPEAKER_00me? Well, if you can relate to one of these statements, then the answer is probably yes. This is a system that can help you if you follow the steps and the recommendations. So, can you relate to any of these? I need to make more money without feeling trapped in my work. I'm busy all day and still I feel like I'm behind on most everything. My desk and computer are an absolute mess. But I'm okay with that because I can find anything I need. Yeah, right. I don't buy that last part. I know what to do, but I just don't have the time to do it. The stress is becoming unbearable, worrying about what's going to happen next. I start the week with really good intentions, and by Tuesday, I had plans been shot to hell. And now I just feel out of control because
Signs You Need A Better System
SPEAKER_00other people continuously are pushing and pulling me to do what they think I should be doing, and they want me to do it right then and there. Yeah, that's a problem. I call that other people's problems. So do any of those things sound even vaguely familiar? Well, if yes, then this system can help you turn things around if you intimate if you implement it the way that we're going to teach you to do it. The first step to build your own personal operating system starts with building a foundation based on the clarity principle, becoming exceptionally clear and focused on what it is that you actually want from your business. Clarity is the key to success in getting what you want. We don't start a trip without knowing the destination. And in business, the destination is what you decide that you want from your business. The clarity principle says that the answer has to be a clear picture so that you know for sure what to focus on. Now, how you answer that what do you want question is based on what you find important in your life, your values. If I asked you what your top five values are, you'd probably be like me. The first time I did this, I had trouble narrowing it down to only five. Well, there's an exercise online that takes only a few minutes, and you can do it in probably less than eight minutes, and that's
The Clarity Principle And Your Values
SPEAKER_00going to help you define what your top five values are. So go to think to perform.com slash values. That's the word think, T H I N K, the number two, the word perform, P-E-R-F-O-R-M dot com slash values, and do the exercise. I've done it a whole bunch of times since I first learned the system, and it really helps me to clarify what I want and begin to think about why I want it. I do the exercise every several months, maybe every five or six months I'll do it again. And in fact, I did it just this morning before I started recording this particular podcast. It's a short exercise. If you're in front of your computer or your phone, just pause this recording, just pause the podcast and run through the exercise. Think2perform.com slash values. Go now and I'll see you back here in less than eight minutes. Now you've got your top five values. You will now be able to compare the things that you want to include in your personal operating system against your values. Having congruency there is going to make life much easier and help you to know that what you really want to do is what you're doing. And what you're also going to know what you do not want to do, which is probably as important, if not more so, than knowing what you want to do. The next step in the process of building your personal operating system is to answer three questions. This is the clarity principle. What do you want from your business? Why do you want it? And how do you plan to get it? Your answer to the what question is where we're going to start. And the answer is not a new Mercedes, a bigger house, or a million dollars in the bank or a condo on the beach. I bet you remember when The Secret came out, movie and all the books and stuff. The secret. It was a rage for quite a while. And basically, if I understood it correctly, it said that if you think about what you want and deliver it to the universe, the universe would manifest it for you. Well, what we're doing here with a personal operating system is not the secret. Now, I can think and visualize and spend time sitting on my couch seeing a million dollars and a pile
Three Questions That Set Direction
SPEAKER_00of money on my dining room table. I can see it, I can see the stacks, I can see the colors, I can do all of that. And I do believe that we become what we think about all day long, but I'm sorry. If I don't get off the couch and do something with a clear plan, that million dollars is not going to appear on my dining room table or in my bank account. My friends, hope is not a strategy. This has to be what you want. It's not what you're supposed to want, what the the world tells you you should want, or what family or friends say you should want, or what the homeless guy down on the corner says you should want. The answer to that what do you want question has to be what you individually, personally, want your life to look like when you get there.
Hope Is Not A Strategy
SPEAKER_00It's gotta come from you, not from anybody else or any other source. It's gotta resonate in your mind and in your heart. So let's start with that first question today. Here's some guidelines to help you as you brainstorm your answer. What do you want? Well, that should be clear and specific. You should be able to truly paint a picture of what you want, a clear picture of what you want your life to look like when you get whatever it is that you decide you want from your business. It takes some thought. That's why I say brainstorm. Do the brainstorming. Sit down with with your, you know, find a nice comfortable chair and sit down with your favorite adult beverage and a legal pad and a pen. Or if you want to do it on your computer, you certainly could do that. But take some time to just brainstorm your answers to that what question. You'll need to do this before we move forward with the next step. And it's just very important to it it is the basis of the entire personal operating system. So take some time for this one, please. If you can't do it right now, take some time later when you can get off by yourself for a while and brainstorm it. Just
Brainstorm A Clear Picture Of What
SPEAKER_00keep writing and keep writing and keep writing until there's nothing else to write about what you want from your business. See, creating and implementing your personal operating system is going to allow you to do the things you need to do. And that's yeah, that's probably pretty much the whole crux of the matter, right? It's going to move you toward reaching what you desire. Whatever that what is, it'll help you reach that what. It'll give you a clear way to increase your net income and have time to enjoy it. Your personal operating system, though, it it needs you for the system to work. You need to you need the fuel to do the work. And that fuel, well, that's your why. That's the answer to the why question. And that, dear friends, is the topic for our next podcast. I'll see you next time. Well, that does it for this episode of the Commission Code Podcast.
